Tenzing Hillary Airport receives weather information equipment

KATHMANDU, July 29: Weather information equipment has been fitted in the Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla. The equipment is capable of informing the airport operators about the air velocity, direction, and temperatures of the unit area, informed airport Chief Yogendra Kunwar.

"The equipment is important for air safety," said Kunwar, "it will ease the operations of the airport." The airport has also been fixed with a hotline information technology. The equipment will allow direct communication between Tenzing Hillary Airport and the area control center at Tribhuvan International Airport. Similarly, the airport has been fitted with 24 flight radar receivers which will inform about the situation of aircraft. There are plans to install 3 more receivers.
