Tharu Museum constructed at Kanchanpur

KATHMANDU, July 26: A Tharu Museum has been constructed in Shuklaphanta Municipality-8, Kanchanpur, in the traditional design in order to increase the tourist attractions in the location.
The ward office constructed the museum in the traditional design of wood and mud at a cost of around 600,000 rupees. The ward office devoted Rs. 200,000 while locals donated Rs. 400,000 for the construction of the cultural museum. Alongside the museum, two toilets have also been constructed in the area.
"We have included the materials reflecting the Tharu culture including the traditional Tharu attire, jewelry, agricultural tools, and other objects related to the Tharu lifestyle," informed the Ward Chief Bahadur Mahara. The museum will be open to tourists from the next year. Rs. 300,000 has been allocated to bring together the exhibits that are to be displayed at the museum. The museum has been planned to include a water park, free wifi, and other facilities as well.
