Tourism Department to cancel registration of 35 travel agencies

KATHMANDU, Mar 11: The Tourism Department is cancelling the license of 35 travel agencies. The Department has revoked the travel business license due to insufficient money for renewal. The spokesperson of the Department, Laxman Sharma, informed that the agencies are going to be cancelled as concerned bodies didn’t showed any response towards the renewal process despite the notice for the same which was issued before 10 days.

"We have started to cancel the registration of 35 travel businesses that have neglected to renew their license, in collaboration with the Ministry ," he said.

According to Sharma, the companies have to maintain at least 500 thousand deposit, the minimum amount of Rs. 1 million in the right of the paid firm and the minimum amount of Rs. 2.5 million in the company's rights should be done within 60 days. Some of the travel and trekking companies that have not submitted funds for renewal include Nepal Mount View International Private Limited, Satellite Trek and Expedition Private Limited.
