Tourism Destinations Crowded for New Year

CHITWAN, Jan 01: The ongoing New Year 2018 has attracted a large number of tourists in tourism destinations Ratnanagar and Chitwan. On Sunday, a number of tourists were unable to find rooms to reside. As per the Chief Secretary of District Hotel Association Chitwan, Mr. Ram Mani Khanal, “All the 110 hotels have capacity of accommodating 800 tourists per day, which were fully occupied. The number of domestic tourists was generally more, Indian tourists were found comparatively in less number while there were even fewer tourists from other countries.”

Singers like Ram Chandra Kafle,  Junu Rijal , DB Lopchang and many more singers were spotted and the tourists who came to celebrate New Year 2018 were found till midnight enjoying the musical events in Sauraha.

The pub restaurant in Sauraha, situated in the bank of Rapti, was crowded with tourists and many other 5-star restaurants provided live music facility to entertain the tourists.

Tourism enterprenuer of Sauraha, Mr. Rishi Tiwari informed that the crowd of tourists increased in New Year celebration on Sunday compared to the elephant fiesta held a few days earlier when the crowd was not as large, though tourists were visiting during that time too. Chitwan is also famous for its national parks, enlisted in the World Heritage Site by UNESCO and it was found that tourists were also enjoying elephant rides, bird watching, boating, and jeep safari, also exploring nature and observing the animals like tigers, one horned rhinos etc along with the musical events organized there.
