Tourism development committee formed in Baglung district

KATHMANDU, Jun 19: A tourism development committee has been formed in Baglung to promote tourism in Baglung District. Currently the committee is working under certain plans and policies. Previously, there was lack of such district committee working under the promotion of tourism. The Chaiman of the committee, Raju Khadka, said that the committee is working for the promotion and development of Baglung district.

Khadka said that the committee is going to collaborate with the government bodies. Initially, the actual details of the tourism officials throughout the district will be collected. "There is a plan to make a documentary showing the potential of the district," he said. The committee will also initiate plans to announce Baglung as a tourist district.

Raj Thapa, Vice Chairman of the committee, is searching for new tourism possibilities for Baglung district. He said that the government will be focusing on preserving and rebuilding religious, cultural and historical heritage. "We also coordinate the work of tourism development in the government and private investment sector," said Thapa.

The committee has made a special plan to protect the cultural festival that has been identified in the district. Thapa tells that the fair will be initiated to organize the festival systematically and in the original form.

Sherman Gharti along with Thapa, Arjun Chokhal as the secretary, Nilesh Raj Bhandari as treasurer, and Mukesh Raj Bhandari as the joint treasurer, among the members, Dil Sirish, Gandaki Thapa, Heera Pun, Suraj Thapaliya and in the accounts department Bishnu Adhikari are there in the committee.
