Tourism entrepreneurs of Godawari agree to work together to develop Godawari region

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Tourism entrepreneurs from the Godawari area have agreed to work together to develop tourism in the Godawari region at a meeting for the construction of the Godawari-Phulchoki Cable Car. The discussion meeting was conducted jointly by Godawari Municipality, Youth Awareness Environment Forum, and Phulchoki United Development Program.

Chief of Godawari Municipality, Gajendra Maharjan, said that he is continuing the required process to bring the Godawari-Phulchoki Cable Car into operation and would leave no stone unturned to develop Godawari Municipality. Ward Chief of Godawari Municipality-3, Bal Mukund Ghimire, said that since the cable car construction would take place with the required permission from the government, there would be no unnecessary hold-ups in the project.

Lalitpur District Forest Official Jaya Mangal Prasad said that Godawari is the heart of Kathmandu Valley, and that the Forest Office would help in any way necessary to fulfill it. Secretary of the Phulchoki United Development Program, Dr. Dipendra Rokaya, presented the program's work plan and said that there is potential to present Godawari as the model of development for the entire country.

Environmental Expert Ravi Bhattarai said that the report for the environmental impact assessment of operating cable car service in Godawari is at the last stage of being accepted.
