Tourism entrepreneurs urges government to make tourism sector fully operational

KATHMANDU, Sep 12: Experts have demanded the government to create a favorable environment for the smooth running of the tourism business. Associations, organizations and experts in the field of tourism have demanded the government to create the necessary environment for the full operation of the tourism business.
Speaking to reporters in Kathmandu on Sunday, Nepal Association of Tours and Travels (NATTA), Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) have jointly urged the government to fully open tourism business in Nepal. Addressing the demand of tourism entrepreneurs in Nepal, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board, Dhananjay Regmi said that the government should make arrangements for visa-on-arrival of vaccinated tourists.
Speaking on the occasion, Achyut Guragain, President of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), said that the CCMC has kept the businessmen in confusion. Chairman Guragain warned to protest in the roads and Singha Durbar if the tourism business was not allowed to continue.
Similarly, Shreejana Rana, President of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), said that the government should focus on the country's economy despite the ongoing pandemic of Corona. He said that the government should allow businessmen to run their business as tourists are the main source of livelihood for the tourism entrepreneurs and they should provide on-arrival visa to the vaccinated tourists.
Former Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, Deepak Raj Joshi, said that the government should not implement quarantine provision to those who have been fully vaccinated and those who come to Nepal with less than 96 hours of PCR negative report.
