Tourism minister enlists help of province government for Visit Nepal 2020

KATHMANDU, Aug 02: Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation discussed with the concerned authorities about tourism plans and policies. In the meeting organized in the Ministry, Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari requested all the leaders of province of 7 to search for new destinations to invite more tourists as far as possible to develop the tourism sector.

He said that our target should be to develop tourism as industry and should develop it as attractive investment. Ministry focuses in this tourism sector in order to increase service and employment and to search possibilities establish International Airport in each province. We are trying to develop Pashupati area as religious site and to develop Lumbini and Janaki temple with proper plans and policies, he added.

Finance Minister Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada also said that we should research possibilities of Railway of short distance. He assured for inviting 5 million tourists within 10 years and urged for increasing the number of regional airports. He said that they are the required infrastructures required for tourism development. If we will be able to increase the number of tourists from India and China by 30/30% then we can meet our target, he added.

Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of tourism board said that we need to make huge changes to make tourism successful. Around 940,000 tourists visit Nepal every year and they stay lasts for 12 days.
