Tourism Minister inaugurates 3 new box of Manakamana Cable car

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Manakamana Cable Car has added 3 new boxes. The boxes were inaugurated by Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari.

Minister Adhikari said that if we are able to operate cable car in the 7 province then we can develop favorable tourism destination and the transport such as cable car brings tourism destination closer. The monuments destroyed by the earthquake are being constructed rapidly so that there is no barrier in visiting the tourism destination.

The Ministry will develop the nearby area of Manakamana. He also urged the businessmen not to discriminate the domestic and international tourists while providing services.  After the addition of the box there are altogether 34 boxes to provide service to the passengers.

Managing Director of the company, Rajesh Babu Shrestha said that due to the increase in the number of the passengers they have added 3 new boxes after 20 years, there used to be 3 hundred thousand passengers in the first year of establishment of Manakamana Cable car but now it has increased to 2 million. Now the capacity of company has increased to 1,812,486. Shrestha informed that they are planning to operate cable car service in other places within 3 years of time.
