Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai announces to operate inter state air service

KATHMANDU, Oct 03: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has said that preparations are underway to operate the inter-state air service. Minister Bhattarai informed that a committee has been formed to start such a service under the coordination of former secretary Suryaman Shrestha.

Minister Bhattarai assured the government to assist the airline company in the first flight in case of any losses. Bhattarai said that the government could provide some facilities for the losses until commercial flights started. Even now there are inter state air services available in some places. He said the airline companies were also positive in its development. Also, Stating that locals are assisting in the construction of Balewa Airport and Dang Airport in Baglung, Minister Bhattarai said that the local government should also emphasize on upgrading of other airports.

He informed that various airports in the country are upgrading to implement nightly service. Similarly,Construction work on the Pokhara International Airport in Gandaki Province has been going forward at a rapid pace and Gandaki state is in the forefront of the search for a new tourist destination, and Pokhara has helped attract not only domestic tourists but also foreign tourists.

Stating that the Gandaki state is ahead of others in terms of language, arts, culture and naturalism, Minister Bhattarai said that the province has lots of infrastructure and manpower. He suggested that other provinces should also be involved in infrastructure and necessary manpower development.  On the occasion of the conclusion of the Tourism Promotion Campaign, a photo showing the serials of Gandaki was displayed. The campaign, which started on October 1, ended at Tansen of Palpa, Amaltari of Nawalpur, Bharatpur of Chitwan, Hetauda, ​​Birgunj, Biratnagar and Janakpur.
