Tourism Ministry of State 4 conducting photo competition for tourism promotion

POKHARA, July 05: The Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Province 4 is planning to publish a profile book the tourism products of the state as part of an ambitious plan to bring in 2 million tourists by the year 2022.

In order to gather material for the profile book, the ministry is organizing a photo competition in Pokhara. The photo competition is centered around photographs that demonstrate the natural and cultural beauty of the tourism destinations of the state. The specifications include descriptions of the photo entries.

"We have stated our plan to attract 2 million tourists by 2022," said Tourism Minister Bikash Lamsal, in a press conference on Wednesday, "currently our statistics do not match that aspiration. This competition will help to produce a book demonstrating our tourism products and help to gain recognition for our tourism destinations."

The competition is an open one and any individual, including non-professionals and foreign nationals, will be able to take part with photos showing the tourism destinations of State 4. The deadline for entries is July 9. Entries will have to be sent to the Photojournalists' Club Nepal through email. Winners of the competition will be announced on July 11.

First place winners will be awarded with cash prize of Rs. 30,000, while Second, Third, and Consolation prizes including cash prizes of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
