Tourism Promotion and Homestay Committee formed in Chapakot

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: A Tourism Promotion and Homestay Committee has been formed in Pokhara for the developement of rural tourism. The committee was formed in Chapakot, Pokhara-23.
The 13-member committee is being headed by Bhim Prasad Parajuli, with Vice-President Kabita Devkota, Secretary Ghanshyam Parajuli, Joint-Secretary Hem Raj Paudel, and Treasurer Chandra Kumari Rana. Similarly, Chapakot Deurali Homestay Committee has been formed under the presidency of Bishwa Raj Parajuli, with Vice-President Tara Aryal, Secretary Narayani Parajuli, and Treasurer Laxmi Parajuli.
President of the Village Tourism Promotion Forum (VITOF) Gandaki, Rabindra Raj Paudel, said that the majority of village settlements in Gandaki state are suitable for hosting homestay services, and that the committees have been formed to promote training programs in feasible locations and to motivate locals towards homestay services. More than 100 villages in the state are currently offering homestay facilities.
