Tourism Umbrella Organizations to pressurize PM to include tourism as agenda

KATHMANDU, August 12: The umbrella organizations of tourism entrepreneurs had decided to pressurize Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to include tourism as agenda during his visit to India.

A meeting of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA), Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) on its brief breakfast meeting in capital Kathmandu decided to approach PM Deuba to draft joint suggestion on Indo-Nepal tourism development.
The meeting of the five tourism umbrella organizations also discussed on drafting joint suggestion on Indo- Nepal Tourism development that tends to be presented to the Prime Minister in his official visit to India slated for 3rd week of August.
“We are going to raise the issues and problems surfaced/experienced in tourism and hospitality industry. Soon we will be going to call on PM to draw his attention regarding unaddressed concerns of this field,” Tek Bahadur Mahat, CEO of TAAN told Tourismmail.
Next time, the TAAN is going to host a breakfast meeting in which overall agendas from Tourism Industry will be discussed and further exercises will be made for solution.
