Tourist sites of Annapurna Village Municipality to reopen from September 31

POKHARA, Sep 24: Tourist sites of Annapurna village municipality will be opened for visitors from September 31. Tourist sites that have been closed since last April after the outbreak of the Corona pandemic have reopened after about six months. The meeting of the executive of municipality has decided to open the tourist spot and Tato Pani Kunda bathing.

Executive Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Baruwal said that the decision has been taken after the decrease in the cases of covid-19.After the opening of the tourist sites it will be easier to make tourism business afloat and run economic activities smoothly.

It has been decided to open hotels and lodges at Annapurna base camp, Bhurung, Pauddhar, Ratopani and Sekarku's Kund, Ghodepani, Poonhil, Mohare, Phulbari, Khopara Lake, Bayali, Rupse, Andhagalchi, Mahabhir and Narchang Jharna.

Village Municipality Chairman Damba Bahadur Pun said that priority has been given to the residents of the tourist spot, hoteliers and workers to get vaccinated against the corona virus. A total of 140 people over the age of 18 have been vaccinated against corona on Wednesday.

Hoteliers said that the tourism sector will be operated by adopting health safety precautions. The Annapurna municipality has lost more than Rs 10 million in revenue last year due to the closure of tourist sites.
