Tourists allowed to enter Manang even on election day

KATHMANDU, May 12: Foreign tourists will be able to enter the Himalayan district Manang on the day of local level election on May 13.
According to the District Administration Office, Manang, the entrance has been opened for the purpose of making it easier for foreign tourists to visit Nepal.
Chief District Officer Rabindra Prasad Acharya informed that the tourists who have come with official permits from the Tourism Board will be allowed to enter Manang. "Tourists who come with a road permit from the tourism board will get admission," he said.
As it is a favorable time for tourists to come, the Government of Nepal has issued a circular to admit tourists. According to him, tourists can come to Manang by car during the silence period. However, driving has been banned on election day. Tourists coming on foot will also get entry on election day, 'said Acharya.
Tourists especially come to Manang to reach the highest point of Tilicho Lake (4919 m). Foreign tourists especially reach Tilicho Lake through Annapurna footpath.
Foreign tourists come to the lap of the mountain for recreation and mountaineering. Tourists come to Manang to visit and observe places like Thorangla Pass and Tilicho Lake.
