Trekking routes are being threatened by Roads in Myagdi

MYAGDI, Dec 28:Trekking areas of Myagdi has been facing the threat of road extension and projects.
Earlier hotels of Myagdi trekking routes were full of guests. Now, no sign of guest is seen in such areas due to road developments.
Due to the road building projects the most popular trekking route, The Round Annapurna Trekking which include the route Pokharebagar-Ghar-Shikhar- Ghorepani is being replaced.
Recently, a dirt road was built linking the village Pokharebagar to Ghar, Shikhar to Ghorepani through Beni- Jomsome route with the construction of road tourist visit through vehicles which highly affect the hoteliers income, local said.
Attracting some hundreds of trekkers every day who enjoy its spectacular scenery recently they are in closing condition. To promote tourism, new trekking routes should be explored in the very region to avoid the threat of road extension.
