KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari, has declared that Tribhuvan International Airport will start 24-hour operation by the end of this fiscal year.

Speaking at the general meeting of the Fastfood Association of Nepal, Minister Adhikari informed that preparations for 24-hour operation of the airport are at the final stage. Fastfood business owners and stall owners at the airport complained that although the Internal Revenue Department has given them permission to open their businesses until 10 pm, police personnel have been pressuring them to close shop early in the evening. Responding to this complaint, Minister Adhikari informed the gathering about the progress in opening the store 24-hours daily.

The government had declared plans to operate TIA 21-hours per day but retracted the plans stating insufficient preparations.
