Turkish Airlines celebrates its 10th membership Anniversary with Star Alliance Network

KATHMANDU, April 10: Turkish Airlines is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of joining to the Star Alliance network which is the first truly global airline alliance to offer worldwide reach, recognition and seamless service to international travellers.

With the participation of the Turkish Airlines Board Chairman M. İlker Aycı, and Star Alliance CEO, Jeffrey Goh. The flag carrier of Turkey celebrated its membership anniversary at Turkish Airlines Headquarters’. İlker Aycı, Chairman of the Turkish Airlines and the Executive Committee said that he was very delighted and that Turkish Airlines will continue its constructive partnership with Star Alliance and move forward with solid footprints.

Star Alliance welcomed Turkish Airlines as its 20th member in April, 2008. When Turkish Airlines joined Star Alliance Network in 2008, 31 destinations were added but today it makes Star Alliance presence available at 72 unique destinations in the world. Turkish Airlines offers wide-range services to every Star Alliance member flight. Together with other 27 Star Alliance member airline, the flag carrier offers the widest choice of flights that connect people and cultures around the World.

Since 2008, Turkish Airlines’ Miles & Smiles Program members can make use of the full Star Alliance FFP benefits. Not only they can earn and redeem miles on all member airline flights through their status, but also they can access more than 1000 passenger lounges across the globe, make use of extra baggage allowance, get priority baggage delivery, fast track security and immigration, separate check-in counters and priority boarding.
