Turkish Airlines Engage Empowering League concludes at Dashrath Stadium

KATHMANDU, July 01: The Turkish Airlines Engage Empowering League (EEL) Wheelchair Basketball Championships have successfully concluded at Dashrath Stadium on Saturday. The Tribhuvan Army Club have successfully defended the men's title, while the Wheelchair Sports Association have emerged as the new champions of the women's title.

Raju Katuwal of Tribhuvan Army Club won the highest scorer award, scoring a total of 172 points, while Prem BK of Jawalakhel Wheelchair Sports Club was declared the most valuable player. Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SCIRC) was named the fair play team.

In the women's tournament, Jyoti Aryal of the winners Wheelchair Sports Association was named the highest scorer while her teammate Hemkala Sunwar was declared the most valuable player. The Nepal Spinal Cord Injury Sports Association won the fair play award.

The top three finishers in both men’s and women’s event were rewarded with a prize of Rs 30,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively along with trophies and medals. The fair play teams will awarded a Chandragiri Hills Tour package along with Rs 10,000. Similarly, The tournament MVPs got Rs 6,000 and highest scorer’s took home Rs 5,000.
