Two dozen Intl airlines own 2.5 Billion rupees to TIA for taking service

KATHMANDU, Nov 24 : The two dozen International Airlines which are under operation in Nepal owns a total of 2.5 billion rupees to Tribhuwan International Airport for the service which they take.
The airlines are due to pay the service charge charged on the passengers along with the Airport development taxes, Landing, Parking, Technical assistance charge, Security charges and other taxes and amounts to the Airport authority of Nepal. The airlines on the other hand earns an about 80 billion rupees from Nepal every year.
But the person behind all the privilege to the International Airlines is the General Manager of the TIA Devananda Upadhyaya. Upadhyaya who has been sitting in the post from a period of 2 years has been ignoring the “Airport Service Tax Directive 2067” and “Economic Administration Directive 2057”.
Malaysia’s Private Airlines Air Asia “X” solely owns to pay a total of 308 million rupees to the Tribhuwan International Airport.
