Vietnam wants to cooperate with Nepal in agro development, tourism: Vietnam official

KATHMANDU, March 4: Agricultural country, Vietnam, has said it was eager to cooperate with Nepal in developing agriculture and promoting tourism in the country.
Addressing a programme organised in the Capital on Friday by Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NVCCI), Vietnam Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister said his country wants to collaborate with Nepal for the development of economic-social sector in the country.
Saying Nepal, the birth place of Gautam Buddha, is in the heart and mind of Vietnams, he added that Vietnam wants to share its expertise and experiences gained in modern agriculture system and hydropower with Nepal.
He also said Nepal is a main tourist destination for Vietnamese and for that, it is essential to set up direct flights between Vietnam and Nepal.
"I also held a discussion for cooperation and development partnership between two countries during my courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today morning. We are encouraged by this meeting," he said.
Also on the occasion, Nepali honorary consul Rajesh Kaji Shrestha stressed the need for Nepal to learn a lesson of achievements gained by Vietnam in information and technology.
Likewise, NVCCI President Dipak Malhotra said the NVCCI is active in expanding mutual cooperation between Nepal and Vietnam in industry and commerce.
