VITOF announces 3 new destinations for tourism promotion

KATHMANDU, Oct 01: Various promotional activities are being carried out these days for the promotion of villages. After operating home stay for the promotion of village, various other destinations are being identified now. Every year Village Tourism Promotion Forum (VITOF) identifies 3 villages as destinations and promotes them. This year also VITOF Nepal has identified 3 new villages as destinations.

In the occasion of World Tourism Day, VITOF Nepal has announced the name of 3 villages that includes Doramba of Ramechhap, Rainaskot of Lamjung and Murma of Mugu. Chairman of VITOF Nepal, Dhurba Simkhada said. “Every year we identify 3 new places with the help of Nepal Tourism board and promote them and this year also we have decided to promote Doramba, Rainaskot and Murma as destinations.”

Rainaskot is one of the beautiful historical villages located 17m above from sea level. After the devastating earthquake, the construction works are being carried out and home stays are also being operated there. Rainaskot reflects the amazing culture of Gurung Community. A museum is also being constructed to conserve their culture and tradition. We can view Annapurna, Manaslu, Lamjul and Ganesh himal.

Murma is one of the suitable destinations to travel in Mugu. One of the major attractions of Mugu is Rara Lake and the one’s visiting Rara lake must visit Murma. Currently, home stays are being operated there. Similarly, Doramba is the village situated in Ramechhap where we can observe the lifestyle of Magar Community. Home stays are also being operated there to attract the tourists. It is situated 158 km away from Kathmandu valley.
