VITOF Nepal organizes rice planting festival at Lele

KATHMANDU, Jun 29: The Village Tourism Development Forum (VITOF) Nepal has organized a rice planting festival on Friday in association with the Nepal Tourism Board. The program was held at Lele Village in Lalitpur Godawari Municipality.
President of VITOF Nepal, Kamal Sapkota, said that the event had around 250 participants including representatives of various tourism organizations, tourism entrepreneurs, tourism journalists, Photo journalists and locals. The festival also included traditional Newari music with the typical Newari instruments.
Participants in the program included member of NTB, Purna Kunwar, regional member of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Ramaran Thapaliya, General Secretary of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Kul Bahadur Gurung, Vice President of Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal, Jivan Thapa Magar, Senior Vice President of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents, Achyut Guragain, and others.
VITOF President Kamal Sapkota said that agricultural tourism and festival tourism promotion could be a medium for helping attain the aim of attracting 2 million tourists by the year 2020. He added that since Nepal is a country full of diversity, VITOF Nepal has taken up rural tourism promotion as a campaign.
