Yeti Airlines receives AOC for International Chartered flights

KATHMANDU, Oct 22: Private airline company, Yeti Airlines has obtained Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) for International Chartered Flights. The company has received AOC from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) on Thursday, said Sudarhan Bartaula, Head of flight Safety and Spokesperson of the company.

“After getting permission, the company will operate chartered flights to India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and other countries with its 72-seat capacity ATR-72 series aircraft,” Bartaula said.

He said that Yeti airlines have planned to operate regular flights to international destinations in the near future based on Chartered's experience. The company also plans to add four ATR-72 aircraft by 2022 after getting permission of international chartered flights. Currently, the company has been providing services to various domestic destinations in the country through its five ATR-72 series aircrafts.

The company had applied to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation for the flight 1 and half year ago. The ministry had issued a public notice for international flights on April 29 last year. Yeti had applied on June 11 last year.
