Youths of Pokhara re-launches hiking program to promote tourism in surrounding areas

POKHARA, July 28: With the objective of promoting tourism in the area around Pokhara through hiking, the youths of Pokhara have re-launched hiking with the active participation. Due to the pandemic of corona virus, hiking on the third Saturday of every month under the slogan 'Hiking for Health and Tourism' was postponed for almost four months.

    

Krishna Ranabhat, Vice-president of Hikers Club Nepal and Hiking Management Coordinator, informed that the suspended hiking has been resumed using social distance and mandatory use of masks and sanitizers. According to Ranabhat, the hike was carried out on the second Saturday of July from Mahendra Cave, a tourist spot in Pokhara Metropolitan City-16, to Haripau.

Welcoming the hiking participants in Haripau, Eknath Acharya, said that the scenic beauty of Pokhara can help in attracting large number of tourists. He pointed out the need to take the existing culture to the tourism market, including the natural beauty of the mountain scenery including Machhapuchhre and Annapurna.
