More than 35,000 kgs of garbage collected from mountains

KATHMANDU, May 31:Mountain Clean-Up Campaign 2023 collected 36 thousand kilos of garbage in 45 days.The campaign's  target was to gather 35,000 kg of garbage .

The Nepali Army led and coordinated this year's Mountain Clean-Up Campaign 2023, which began collecting waste from four summits - Everest, Lhotse, Annapurna, and Baruntse.

According to the NA, Directorate of Military Public Relations and Information, 35,708 kilograms have been collected thus far, including 3,567 kg from Mt Annapurna, 18,520 kg from Mt Baruntse, and 13,621 kg from Everest and Lhotse.

This effort, one of the largest mountain cleanup programs in the world, was launched on March 28 in conjunction with the Coca-Cola Foundation and numerous other organizations. This campaign is expected to conclude on June 5.
