Coca-Cola Foundation and Maiti Nepal reached an agreement to promote sustainable agriculture

KATHMANDU:The Coca-Cola Foundation and Maiti Nepal have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote sustainable development, community prosperity, and women's empowerment through integrated farming, agricultural training, and agricultural tourism.

Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel lay the program's foundation stone at Makwanpur Gadhi.

Chief Minister Jamkattel noted that this agreement will encourage rural development, sustainable farming methods, and community economic stability.

A training facility will be constructed as part of this initiative to train rural women and girls at risk of trafficking.

The project's purpose is to give 30 people with long-term financial resources and the skills they need to succeed in the agriculture business.

Following the training, the organization will connect the participants with local government and banking institutions to obtain the required funding to get started. In the second year, in addition to giving job possibilities, the foundation intends to construct model agri-tourism units for participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge.

Furthermore, the group will work with local governments to provide financial assistance, such as agricultural loans from banks, to those who want to work in their area.
