Investigation into NAC plane purchase complaint started
KATHMANDU, Nov 30:The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has started an investigation into the purchase of planes of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC). On Monday, a complaint was filed with the office alleging an error in the plane procurement process.
Bishnu Prasad Sharma informed that a preliminary investigation into the complaint had begun. Sharma said that after receiving a complaint at the office, he asked for preliminary information from the NAC.
"On Monday, a complaint was filed alleging that there were irregularities in the plane procurement process and that the financial source was unclear." Along with that, we have asked for preliminary information about what happened," he said.
NAC has requested a tender for the purchase of an airplane. The NAC has given a 35-day notice to purchase three' STOL' planes. According to the notification, the application must be submitted by December 5th.
