Tribhuvan Airport's domestic new terminal building operation
KATHMANDU, Jan 25:The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has extended its domestic terminal building at the Tribhuvan International Airport office, which serves domestic passengers. Along with it, the departure and arrival buildings for domestic passengers are different.
The domestic Arrival Terminal Building has been operating from Wednesday. The building's construction cost more than 60 million rupees. The office's head, Pratavababu Tiwari, stated that it can now serve 400 passengers each hour.
The newly constructed building is 40 meters long and 24 meters wide, and two 35-meter-long baggage conveyor belts have been installed.
The airport master plan calls for the construction of domestic and international terminal structures totaling 40 billion. Because the work will take longer to complete, this structure was built to handle the expanding domestic air passenger traffic while also managing the limited domestic terminal building.
Domestic passengers use a modest arrival hall. Even when passengers from one or two planes arrived at the same moment, the arrival hall was filled. This problem is finally going to be fixed.
