TIA's revenue collection more than 11 billion in FY 2022/23

KATHMANDU, Feb 23:Tribhuvan International Airport is a very busy airport in terms of air travel. Domestic and international flight traffic are increasing,  resulting in an increase in the number of passengers that use its services each year. 

Along with aircraft and passengers at the airport, revenue is increasing. According to the TIA office, revenue for the fiscal year 2022/23 totaled 11.38 billion rupees. This year, the airport has collected a revenue target of 13 billion rupees. According to the TIA administration, 6 billion 76 crores of revenue have been collected so far.


Pratap Babu Tiwari, the TIA's general manager, stated that the airport is now running at full capacity, that international flight passengers have increased, and that revenue is steadily increasing as a result of overall improvements. The airport office has generated revenue through a variety of means, including passenger service fees, terminal and hangar rentals, bus service, and aircraft landing fees.

The airport office earned 2.46 billion rupees in 2020/21. The office stated that the revenue was down that year owing to Covid-19 pandemic. The TIA is now operating at full capacity after the Covid-19 pandemic.

There are now nine airlines and twelve helicopter companies operating domestically at the TIA. Additionally, 30 air service companies, including three Nepalese carriers, serve 31 destinations in 16 countries.

Nepal now has bilateral air service agreements with 42 countries. The previous bilateral aviation service agreement between Nepal and Switzerland was signed on February 6th.
