NMB Bank announces Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Scheme

KATHMANDU:NMB Bank announced the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) scheme to demonstrate its commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable society.

The bank's policy emphasizes societal diversity, the development of marginalized communities, and gender equality.

According to GESI, the bank is confident in its ability to contribute to the creation of an accessible, inclusive, and responsive banking environment while serving the diverse requirements of its workers, customers, and communities, as well as the banking system overall.

The Bank, as part of the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Scheme, has erected wheelchair ramps for clients with disabilities at its branches in Maharajagunj, Thaiba, Naxal, Mahendra Chowk, Lubhu, and Birgunj.

In addition, it has launched a national women's leadership program to promote female leaders.
The bank has also offered attractive loans with particular features to boost female entrepreneurs.

The bank has already announced women-led and women-only branches in all states.

The bank has created state-specific savings accounts such as Sundar Sudurpaschim Savings Account, Karnali Special Savings Account, Lumbini Savings Account, Mero Gandaki Savings Account, Apan NMB Savings Account, and Pathibhara Savings Account.
