FNCCI President Dhakal calls on Saudi investors to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU:Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has urged Saudi investors to invest in Nepal. Dhakal urged on Saudi investors to boost their investment in Nepal and form investment partnerships.

Chairman Dhakal asked Saudi investors to boost their investment in Nepal during an investment webinar co-hosted by the FNCCI, Investment Board Nepal, Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Chamber, and Saudi Arabian Embassy. Chairman Dhakal stated at the investment conference that the government of Nepal is collaborating with the private sector to create a welcoming climate for investors in Nepal.

President Dhakal has also drawn the attention of Saudi investors to the fact that Nepal has expanded its investment potential in hydropower, tourism, information technology, and commercial agriculture.

The Nepalese government has set an aim of creating more than 25,000 megawatts of hydropower over the next decade. Because foreign investment is required to meet the aim of hydropower generation, President Dhakal also sought a cooperation to establish joint investment projects in the sector.

President Dhakal stated that the tourist market is also attractive to foreign investors, citing increased investment in hotel resorts and cable car projects as examples of Nepal's natural beauty and unique traits.

President Dhakal asked investors to pay attention to this since rising market demand in information technology and commercial agriculture has provided new chances for investors.

Chairman Dhakal also promised Saudi investors that they would not be humiliated by policy issues, as the federation is collaborating with the government on the development of investment and trade policies to encourage international investment.

President Dhakal stated that the FNCCI is offering services to investors through the Foreign Investment Help Desk, which has made them more comfortable.

President Dhakal also asked Saudi investors to join in the Nepal Investment Conference, which would be held in the coming month of May with investment promises.

The investment webinar was attended by Saudi and Nepalese investors, including the Chief Executive of the Board of Investment, the Saudi Ministry of Investment, the Saudi Chamber, and the Saudi Ambassador to Nepal.
