Germany's David Nordhoff won title in Fewa Festival's tourist race

POKHARA, April 15:German David Nordhoff won the title in a tourist race competition held in Pokhara on Friday for foreign tourists.

On the second day of the 19th edition of the Fewa New Year Festival 2081, held on the Fewa lakeside in Pokhara, David defeated 34 candidates from 12 countries to win the title.

Similarly, Max Laplace of France finished second, with Rich Austin taking third place.

In the women's race, Sijne Vinastia of the Netherlands finished first, followed by Harriet Mackenzie of New Zealand and Aline Risky of Belgium.

The race started at Lakeside Hallan Chowk (in front of the Peace Plaza Hotel) and finished at Damside. The three-kilometer race attracted 35 tourists from 12 different nations, according to Hemraj Pahari, the competition's coordinator.

The competition involved 12 female and 23 male foreign tourists from Spain, America, the Netherlands, Myanmar, Israel, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, and other places.

The first prize winner received an ultralight flight from Pokhara Ultralight, fooding and lodging at Hotel Glacier, a complimentary massage from Seeing Hands Blind Massage Clinic, a token of love, and a certificate.

Similarly, the second runner-up was awarded a half-hour trip from Annapurna Paragliding, dinner from Byanjan Bar and Grill, a token of love, and a certificate as prizes. A free T-shirt and massage service were awarded as the third prize.

The winners of the Run for Fun competition were awarded by the president of Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward 17, Radhika Kumari Shahi, the president of the  Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal, and the festival coordinator, Laxman Subedi, among others.

The Nepal Tourism Board and Pokhara Metropolitan City jointly promote the Fewa Festival.
