Nirmal Purja sets new record in climbing mountains higher than 8,000 meters 44 times

KATHMANDU, April 19:Nirmal Purja, a world record mountaineer, has successfully ascended Annapurna-1, the world's tenth-highest peak. With his successful climb of the mountain, he set another record.

Mingma David Sherpa, co-founder of Elite Himalayan Adventures Private Limited, confirmed that Purja climbed Annapurna-1 last Saturday at 12:15 PM. Sherpa stated that with the successful ascent of Annapurna-1, he has set another world record by ascending the globe's 8,000-meter-high mountains 44 times.

Purja has successfully climbed 13 of the 14 mountains without oxygen. The only thing left to climb is Tibet's Shishapangma peak without oxygen. He has set records in a variety of mountains.
